The HMCBA is looking for the best cooking teams around to compete in the 5th Annual Bourbon-Que Cook Off Competition. Teams will be judged in three categories: Pork, Chicken, and their own wild card dish.

Bourbon-Que winners will be chosen by event attendees!

Cooking Team ($200) - Register a cooking team with all competition meat provided!

No Grill Just Chill - Not interested in cooking? No problem! Attend the Bourbon-Que Cook-Off Competition and help decide who's the best cook around. Attendees will be given 3 poker chips with the chance to vote for their favorite in each of the 3 categories. 

HMCBA Scholarship Fund Raffle - As added excitement this year, we will be doing two giveaways at the event. One grand prize winner for $1,000 (do not have to be present to win) and one giveaway for $500 (must be present to win).! For every $100 tax-deductible donation made to the HMCBA Foundation scholarship, you will receive one entry to the drawing. Purchase as many tickets as you would like, but get them while you can because we are limiting the drawing to 100 tickets.

Bourbon-Que Competition Rules and General Information

1. The event will be held on September 17th at the HMCBA. Cooking teams can set up starting September 16th.
   
   
2. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Huntsville Madison County Builders Foundation Scholarship Fund.
   
   
3. Bourbon-Que will be from 5-7 pm on the 17th and all food must be ready by 5 pm.
   
   
4. Event attendees will be the judges. Attendees will be given three different color poker chips to be placed in the team box that they are voting for. The team with the most tokens in each category will win that category. The team with the most overall chips will be recognized as the overall best cooking team.
   
   
5. Three competition food items to be judged: Pork, Chicken, and  Wild Card Dish.
   
   
6.  In addition to these 3 categories, there will also be reconiginzation for the best overall cooking team. The team with the most overall chips will be recognized as the overall best cooking team.
   
   
7. All three food items must include bourbon in the cooking and/or preparation. HMCBA will provide pork (Boston Butts) and chicken (3 whole Chickens) for each team. Each team is responsible for its own wild card items.
8. All food must be cooked on-site. Cooks are to prepare and cook in as sanitary a manner as possible. Each team will have approixment 20x20 area.Cooking Spots will be reserved on a first come first serve basis.
   
   
9. Voting will end at 6:30 pm, with a recognition ceremony to follow after HMCBA staff reconciles the final votes.
   
   
10. The HMCBA will not be held responsible for theft or damage to equipment or bodily injury of any kind.
